TRANSITION

Well I"m back to blogging. This has been such a hectic year, that I haven't really been able to do much of anything except for sit at home and focus on family.
I just want to give everyone a heads-up to let you all know that we are doing good, and that things are getting better for us.
I will do another post very soon to give you all detail on what's been going on this past year and what I've got in the works creatively.
Love and Blessings to all!

God has to have a sense of humor

So I cannot believe that luck we had for our Easter Egg Hunt this year. I was worried that because of Easter being so early this year that we may be in trouble when it came to the weather. What would be we do if it rained? Snow never even crossed my mind! I prayed and prayed, "Please Lord, let it be tollerable for the kids during the hunt. Please don't let it be windy and please let there be no rain, that's all I ask." Well, sure enough, my prayers were answered full force! Little did I know what was in store for us. Friday morning at about 10:30am, the snow started. It kept coming and didn't let up all day and night long. The weather people kept saying we were only going to get about 4-6 inches. (Wouldn't it be great if YOU could get paid well for being wrong all the time?!?!?!) Well with Jeff being crippled and basically out of commission, we had enlisted the help of my AMAZING brother, Mike. I really don't think he knew what he was getting himself into.
Saturday morning when we woke up to 14 inches of snow of the ground, we got our hinnies moving outside to get everything ready for the party. After the snowblower broke while using it on the driveway, Jeff had had it and decided to go into Redneck mode. (too many Redneck Wedding shows, thanks CMT!) He put the truck into 4-wheel drive, and with Mike's help, had managed to pack down two huge circles in the backyard for the eggs to be. (Yes, we even got the lawn roller out, for crying out loud!!!) I never would have thought of doing that.
After some of our amazingly wonderful and helpful friends showed up early to help hide eggs and get other things set up, we were ready for the hunt. All the kids got bundled up, and clugged outside. Alex R. found the gold egg and Alex S. found the silver egg. Both had money in them. (Thanks Nikki!!!) We had about 14 kids show up and everyone had lots of goodies when they were all done.
Hopefully next year, when I'm saying my prayer, I'll remember to add snow to the list. But how can I complain? God answered my prayer and gave me icing with sprinkles on top of my Easter Cake. Seriously?!?!?! There was no rain and no wind. Granted there was snow, but the temps were almost 40 degrees, and honestly I don't think the kids could have had more fun this year! The yard and the weather were beautiful. So yeah, prayer answered! Answered in a way that I did not expect, nor would I have changed it for the world. The day was perfect!

10 LITTLE THINGS ABOUT ME

10 Things About ME
1. My kids and my hubby are my life! I would not trade this crazy life for anything in the world.
2. I often feel like a bad mom/wife because of my physical inabilities, but realize that I do my best to make the most of things.
3. I love spring. All of the life coming back to flowers and trees; the rain washing away all of the dreariness of winter and being able to play outside in the dirt with my kids.
4. I plan our family vacations almost a year in advance.
5. SAHM does not mean I sit and twiddle my thumbs all day long. As my friend Nikki puts it: I have to be a doctor, teacher, psycologist, chef, maid, taxi, pe coach, accountant, and a woman with a forgiving soul. There's about a million other things I can add to that list too.
6. I am terrified of trying new foods. But once I do, I usually like them. Please, God, don't let my kids be the same way!
7. The number of medical surgeries I have had in my life, majorly surpasses my age.
8. April 13th is my 7th wedding aniversary to my hubby.
9. Some words and phrases I'm known for: Shnicklefritz, Use your words, For crying out loud, Seriously?!?!, Peanut brittle, Oh bubbles, Son of a biscuit farmer and That smarted. And I get almost everybody addicted to them eventually, too. HEHEHE
10. I fould my first gray hair a month before I turned 30. I was so close! And I took a picture of it and eventually plan to scrapbook it.

Where more pics are of the Trike-A-Thon

Hi All. Here's a link to shutterfly.com for a look at all the photos that came out for the charity bike event. The rest of the story is below. Thanks to everyone for their support.
Hopefully once Jeff is back to his old self, he'll be able to teach me how to load video from the camera.
Please remember that all donations must be received by March 25th, so I may turn them into the school by March 28th. Thanks.

Trike-a-thon

March 13, 2008 St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital Trike-A-Thon

The kids have been talking about getting to ride their bikes at school for the charity event. The day came, and Kristopher didn't want to take his bike, and Elisabeth was so excited about being about to do this. In years past, the entire gym area had been used to the event, but this year, the school decided to only use half of it. Miss Kim said it was because in years past, the children would get overwhelmed after just a lap or 2. So that's how it came about to only using half of it this time. The kids were so excited and luckily they had extra trikes and things to ride so Kristopher was able to scoot around on one of those.
They went in groups of 4 and our 2 were in the first group. Elisabeth grabbed her helmet and I helped her put it on. Kristopher was right behind her waiting for me to put his helmet on too. This is the first time he wanted his helmet on, all of last summer he didn't get to ride his bike because he would not wear his helmet. Needless to say, I was extremely pleased by this. Thank the Lord that he realized the reason for the helmet was for his own safety and he wanted to be a big boy just like everyone else.
As they were making the laps, Kristopher made everyone obey the imaginary traffic signals and he decided to have a few crashes along the way too, as you'll see in the pictures. He would tell everyone RED LIGHT and I had to change the light to green. He made it around 19 times, which is pretty good since he still has yet to learn to pedal and he was scooting the whole time. Elisabeth went around 40 times. She could have gone more if we let her but Miss Kim kept all the kids in 30 minute intervals.
I was so proud of how well they did. I got some good video too, and when I learn how to load 8mm video into my computer, I'll be able to show you all. And now that the weather is much nicer out the kids have both wanted to be constantly outside. Which I am so happy about because this winter has just been treacherous and cabin fever has really set in around here.
