God has to have a sense of humor

So I cannot believe that luck we had for our Easter Egg Hunt this year. I was worried that because of Easter being so early this year that we may be in trouble when it came to the weather. What would be we do if it rained? Snow never even crossed my mind! I prayed and prayed, "Please Lord, let it be tollerable for the kids during the hunt. Please don't let it be windy and please let there be no rain, that's all I ask." Well, sure enough, my prayers were answered full force! Little did I know what was in store for us. Friday morning at about 10:30am, the snow started. It kept coming and didn't let up all day and night long. The weather people kept saying we were only going to get about 4-6 inches. (Wouldn't it be great if YOU could get paid well for being wrong all the time?!?!?!) Well with Jeff being crippled and basically out of commission, we had enlisted the help of my AMAZING brother, Mike. I really don't think he knew what he was getting himself into.
Saturday morning when we woke up to 14 inches of snow of the ground, we got our hinnies moving outside to get everything ready for the party. After the snowblower broke while using it on the driveway, Jeff had had it and decided to go into Redneck mode. (too many Redneck Wedding shows, thanks CMT!) He put the truck into 4-wheel drive, and with Mike's help, had managed to pack down two huge circles in the backyard for the eggs to be. (Yes, we even got the lawn roller out, for crying out loud!!!) I never would have thought of doing that.
After some of our amazingly wonderful and helpful friends showed up early to help hide eggs and get other things set up, we were ready for the hunt. All the kids got bundled up, and clugged outside. Alex R. found the gold egg and Alex S. found the silver egg. Both had money in them. (Thanks Nikki!!!) We had about 14 kids show up and everyone had lots of goodies when they were all done.
Hopefully next year, when I'm saying my prayer, I'll remember to add snow to the list. But how can I complain? God answered my prayer and gave me icing with sprinkles on top of my Easter Cake. Seriously?!?!?! There was no rain and no wind. Granted there was snow, but the temps were almost 40 degrees, and honestly I don't think the kids could have had more fun this year! The yard and the weather were beautiful. So yeah, prayer answered! Answered in a way that I did not expect, nor would I have changed it for the world. The day was perfect!
